About FreshAirScore

Indoor air and water quality affect your health every single day. Most people spend over 90% of their time indoors, yet few think about what they're breathing or drinking at home. That's why we built FreshAirScore.

Who Runs This Site

FreshAirScore is run by one person, not a newsroom. There is no editorial team, no test lab, and no roster of staff reviewers. Everything published here is desk research: reading spec sheets, putting comparable units side by side, and working out what the numbers mean for an actual room.

We do not have hands-on access to the products covered on this site. We have not opened them, run them, or measured them. Where an article describes how a product behaves, that description comes from the manufacturer's own documentation, from published third-party results, or from owners who have written publicly about living with it -- never from testing of our own. Our methodology page sets out exactly which sources we use and how the FreshAirScore™ is calculated.

Our Mission

We help homeowners make informed decisions about air purifiers, water filters, dehumidifiers, and humidifiers. Every product we recommend goes through a thorough evaluation process that considers performance data, build quality, long-term costs, and real-world user experiences.

How We Review

Our review process is straightforward. We research manufacturer specifications, analyze independent lab results where available, compare pricing and filter replacement costs, and aggregate owner feedback from across major retailers. We look at the full picture -- not just the sticker price, but the total cost of ownership over years of use.

We focus on the metrics that actually matter: Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) for air purifiers, contaminant reduction certifications for water filters, pint-per-day capacity for dehumidifiers, and output rate for humidifiers. No fluff, no filler -- just the numbers and facts you need.

What We Don't Do

Editorial Independence

Our reviews are never influenced by manufacturers or advertisers. We do participate in affiliate programs, which means we may earn a commission when you purchase through our links. This comes at no extra cost to you and helps fund our continued research. Our recommendations are based solely on product merit. You can read our full affiliate disclosure for more details.
